The Playtime Project and 2014 Honorary Committee invite you to join us for an evening celebrating our childhood memories and bringing us together to secure a bright future for families experiencing homelessness in the District of Columbia.
Enjoy great food and an open bar while mingling with legislators, nonprofit, community and business leaders who believe in the importance of play for all children.

- An art and photo exhibit from children living at five family shelters
- Silent auction with sports tickets, vacation packages, evenings out, and more
- Opportunities to meet Playtime families, volunteers, donors, staff, and community partners
- Fun, interactive activities that demonstrate the joy and learning play can bring to all of us
- A musical performance by steel drum band Pan Lara and special performance of the "The Callaloo Song" by Ihsan and Nabeeh Bilal.

Callaloo: A Jazz Folktale follows Winston, a young inner city boy who goes to Brooklyn, NY to get ingredients for his Aunt’s callaloo dinner when he magically is transported to the Caribbean island of Tobago. Here, he encounters mythical folkloric characters that roam the island. Winston’s fears and fantasies fuse together as his dreams become reality. He must find his way out of this haunting paradise to make it back home.
